Michael D. Prados MD
Susan M. Chang MD
Anuradha Banerjee MD, MPH
Nicholas Butowski MD

Michael D. Prados MD
Dr. Prados performs clinical trials and studies of quality of life for patients undergoing brain tumor therapies. The National Cancer Institute's North American Brain Tumor Consortium, which sponsors trials of treatment regimens for brain tumors, is based at UCSF under the leadership of Dr. Prados, and he is principal investigator of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium site at UCSF, which is one of nine institutions in the United States selected to participate in this NIH-funded cooperative effort to develop effective new strategies for treating children with malignant brain tumors. He is also the Clinical Co-Investigator of a recently funded NCI SPORE grant supporting translational research that should lead quickly to new clinical trials in patients with brain tumors. The goal of this SPORE grant is to enhance "bench to bedside" research activities, bringing novel agents into clinical trials.

Susan M. Chang MD
A specialist in neuro-oncology for adults with brain tumors, Dr. Chang performs clinical trials of new therapies for patients with primary brain tumors and is a key preceptor training Fellows about conducting clinical trials and analyzing and interpreting clinical trial data.

Anuradha Banerjee MD, MPH
Dr. Banerjee's research at present involves the use of novel convection enhanced delivery of novel drugs for treatment of high grade glioma, and the role of signal transduction inhibitors with radiation for the treatment of brainstem glioma.

Nicholas Butowski MD
Dr. Butowski specializes in novel therapeutic approaches to brain tumors, clinical trials, neuro-imaging, cognitive and rehabilitative neurology, medical education, and complementary therapy. The majority of his clinical activities involve the assessment and management of adult patients with brain tumors.
