UCSF Neurological Surgery faculty since 1974
Formerly Chief of Neurological Surgery at Highland General Hospital in Oakland, California and formerly Acting Chief of Neurological Surgery at San Francisco General Hospital, Dr. Gauger has extensive expertise in the treatment of brain and spinal cord injury and neurological trauma. Dr. Gauger's main research interests are in the area of heavy particle radiobiology, and he frequently collaborates with colleagues at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and the Donner Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley.
